Lyman and family.  I was so shocked to hear about Marieta.  We were just there in June and ate with you and Marieta.  She was a member of our family for a long time and had a great sense of humor.  I remember when I had pneumonia when we lived in Arkansas.  At the time, you guys lived in California and had come back for a visit.  I was very sick, but I still remember Marieta making me laugh. Another time, it was close to Christmas and Dad kept saying he wanted his very own gift.  Marieta wrapped up his own belt and gave it to him.  We all had a big laugh about it. Dear Lyman
I am so sorry to hear about Marietta's passing. The main memory I have of her is her sense of humor and her ability to make everyone love her. She could always make me laugh and she was so much fun.  I will miss her very much. The photo album was such a good thing to do and it just makes us all realize how fleeting life really is. We love you and will be praying for you as she is laid to rest. Dear Lyman and family,
I was so sorry to hear of  Rita's passing. In the short time I'd gotten to know her she was truly an inspiration and a  joy to be around. I loved her like a Mom. She always made me laugh. Every week she'd come in to have me fix her hair and I'd always offer some kind of sweet treat while her hair was drying under the dryer. She never turned one down. A lady after my own heart! So spunky and stuborn too. That's what made me love her even more. She also talked so loving of you Lyman and the rest of her family. I've always admired the special relationship you both shared. I've told Rita  on several occasions that when I grew up, I wanted to be just like her. I will truly miss her and her silly jokes and smiling face. I loved her like family. My life has been truly blessed by knowing Rita.  She was a wonderful friend and 'mom'.  Selfishly, I was not ready for her to leave this earthly life, even though I know she is now in the most wonderful of all places.  I know she will be waiting with open arms when I see her again.

My condolences to Lyman and the rest of Marieta's immediate family. Her mother Mary and my father, W.J.Garrett,Sr. were brother and sister. I wish I had known her as well as the rest of her cousins there in Ark. and Okla. Sandra, you will miss her but I am sure she is in a better place with our Lord. Dear Lyman and family, 
I am so sorry and I feel the same as you do. Nothing one can say or do to take away the pain that we all endure. Marieta, left this world in such a quiet manner and I am sure without any pain. It is indeed a "Blessing of God", that he let her go this way. Marieta has it over with and gets to see Jesus a little sooner than the rest of us, but we will see her again, and enjoy the after life together as one big family. Laughing, and singing, and praiseing "God". with no sorrow, no more pain, and no struggles that this life has given. May "God", be with you all and praise be to "God" for ever and Amen..

I talked to Marieta a few weeks ago and was talking how pretty the trees were turning here in Missouri, and she had told me that she would like for her and Lyman to take the "Train Ride" out of Van Buren to Winslo and how the seats folds back the opposite direction and you then look the other direction.  I had told her the trees up here were so pretty and beautiful, and if she did not hurry for the train ride that she would miss all the autum colors in their most beautiful spendor. I sent her pictures that I had taken, but there was no reply if she had seen them.  I think of the Train Ride that she had wanted to take, and am now thinking she was colored blind and got on that "Long black train" they sing about, and to stay away from. I know Marieta, would find, this to be funny and can see her expressions. I told her if you wait too long, you will never get to do it. Marietas, time ran out, and I am so sorry that she did not get to see the most beautiful trees this year. "God," blessed her with the most fast and quiet way of leaving this life. Truly she was blessed by "God", and what a wonderful way to go.  I will miss her forever, and will always think of her especially when the "Leaves turn to their most delightful and radiant colors. Oh, what Heaven must look like, by just what he shows us on this Earth.
