Lillian Kobel Burns, 97, formerly of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015 in the Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville, Tennessee. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Aldersgate Sunday School class, Fort Smith Embroidery Guild, and a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She graduated from Fort Smith High School, attended the University of Arkansas and graduated from Northeastern Oklahoma State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She worked for the Fort Smith Public Schools teaching at Darby Junior High and Northside High Schools.
Her mother, Ora Hinton Kobel, her father R.C. Kobel and her sister Kathleen Kobel, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 22, 2015 at Roebuck Chapel with burial at Forest Park Cemetery under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.
She is survived by her daughters, Kay McBrady and her husband Peter McBrady of St. Louis and Ann Endicott and her husband, Ed Endicott of Collierville, TN. Grandchildren, Adam McBrady of St. Louis, Rebecca Butts, and her husband Tim Butts of Columbia, Mo., Emily Barnes and her husband Nate Barnes of Collierville, TN., David Endicott of Bloomington, Indiana. One great-grandchild, Ryan Butts of Columbia, Mo.
Pallbearers will be Peter McBrady, Ed Endicott, Adam McBrady, David Endicott, Nate Barnes, and Tim Butts.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 21, 2015 from 2 to 4 pm at Fentress Mortuary on 1805 North A St.
