Rose was a graduate of Fort Smith High School and a lifelong resident of Fort Smith. She and her husband Rob were the founding owners of Mr. Rob’s Dry Cleaners and Laundry which they sold and then opened Spencer’s Interiors which she continued to operate, along with her daughter Laura Blythe, until her retirement in 2005.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, a 50 year member of the Arkansas Laurete Alpha Eta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, a Past President and lifetime member of the Echols/Euper Lane PTA, a past member of Sparks Guild and the Opti-Mrs. Club of Fort Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rob Spencer, her parents, her infant grandson Garrett Blythe and her sisters Wanda Boone and Alice Shelby.
She is survived by her daughter, Laura Blythe and husband Keith of Fort Smith; two grandsons Hayden and Grant Blythe of Fort Smith; numerous nieces and nephews and her lifelong best friend Barbara Kymer.
Pallbearers will be Joe Procell, Rich Krutsch, Scott Bruner, and her nephews, Franklin Spencer, Jimmy Spencer, Ron Shelby, and Gavin Potts.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, July 8, 2010, at Edwards Funeral Home with burial at the U.S. National Cemetery.
Viewing will be 8:00 A.M.- 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 7, 2010.
