Kenneth Charles Schenk, Sr., 81 of Fort Smith passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 while surrounded by his children. He left the sufferings of this world behind to follow his beloved wife, Louise, home 12 hours after her passing. He did not want a life without her. He was born September 26, 1937 in Fort Smith to Joseph “Babe” and Margaret Schenk. He, like Louise, was faithful to the end. They were married on September 30, 1961. 57 years 4 months and 21 days of devotion. Rarely was there a day spent apart from each other. He was a Civil Engineer, P.E. A very detailed man. Always did it his way and you always knew where you stood with him.
He is survived by two sons, Kenny Schenk and wife Suzette, Kelley Schenk and wife Shirley; one daughter, Emily Moody and husband Chris; one granddaughter, Heather Schenk; six grandsons, Jacob, Matthew, Nicholas and Jason Schenk, Gunnar and Zachary Moody; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, February 25 from 5:30pm to 6:30p.m.with a Rosary to follow at 6:30p.m. both at Edwards Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
His grandsons will serve as pallbearers for his service.
