Kathryn Stamps

Kathryn Stamps, 104, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Fort Smith, fell asleep in death September 3, 2016 at home in Houston, where she had been lovingly cared for by her three granddaughters, Vicky Rudy, Phoebe Childers and Celine Garman. Kathryn was a lifelong homemaker and one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Kathryn was born October 30, 1911, in Douglas, Arizona, to the late Robert and Lydia Kaneaster West. Kathryn is survived by her children, Darrell Stamps (Frances), of Spiro, Oklahoma, Cecille Skaggs (Jack), of Springfield, Missouri, and Gary Stamps (Eda), of Fort Smith; 19 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren and 27 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cecil Earl Stamps in 1983; son, Robert Earl Stamps, in 1997; and daughter, Joline Garman Gibson in April 2016.

Services will be held Thursday, September 8, 2016, in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will greet friends at 1:00 p.m. Thursday and the funeral will be at 2:00 p.m.
