Kassidee was a presence who brought happiness to a room and to all of those around her. She was a friend to everyone she met and her smile and laugh were contagious. She grew up in Fort Smith then moved to Conway where she attended the University of Central Arkansas. She then moved and settled in Northwest Arkansas. One of the ways Kass expressed her talent and creativity was in the restaurant and bar tending industry. She worked among a tight-knit community and became a dear friend to both her coworkers and many of her patrons. Kassidee worked as a bartender for Butterscotch Bakery and Bar in Bentonville, AR.
As much as Kass loved her job, she cherished any activity outdoors. She loved hiking, rock climbing, camping and gardening. She also loved being with her friends and cooking. Garlic was her favorite flavor and she would always say that she measured the garlic with her heart. She loved reading books, especially if it involved Star Wars, sci-fi and fantasy… so much that she decorated her arm with a tattoo of images from her favorite stories. She also loved playing with her two sweet cats.
She loved to talk and never, ever ran out of things to talk about. To know Kass was to love her. She leaves a void in this world, but the memory of how she lifted people up around her, her smile and laugh and her positive attitude will continue to be an example to all who knew her.
Kass is survived by her father, Neal Coleman, of Fort Smith; her mother Kristy Holland (Richard) of Fort Smith; her sister, Gabrielle Atchley (Spencer), of Charleston, AR; two step-sisters, Katie Stackable (Ryan) of Atlanta, GA and Jordan Francis (Westley) of Houston, TX; her grandparents, Royce Coleman of Fort Smith and Gary and Sandy Key of Ozark, AR; her aunts and uncles, Tracy and Kim Key of Ozark, Bailey Coleman of Fort Smith, Alva and Mike Corley of Greenwood, AR and Becky and Greg Allison of Greenwood; and many cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Jack Coleman; her aunt Terry Branham; and cousin Bradley Key.
There will be a visitation from five o’clock to seven o’clock in the evening on the 13th of May at Edwards Funeral Home, 201 North 12th Street, Fort Smith. A memorial service will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on the 14th of May at Community Bible Church, 9201 Dallas Street, Fort Smith followed by a graveside service at Rose Lawn. The family would like to thank the pallbearers, Brian Floyd, Zaiquiri Ellis, Jordan Sainsbury, Taylor Todd, Michaela Smith and Samwise Gibson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Operation Rescue Children (https://www.givebutter.com/orc), a non-profit with the mission of empowering the heroes fighting human trafficking to be more capable and effective. Kassidee was very caring and selfless, and it’s the family’s belief that Kassidee would have wanted this donation option to be available.
