Judy S. Pearce, 73, of Fort Smith, died Sunday, April 19, 2015, at Fianna Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born March 31, 1942, in Magazine, Arkansas, to Sheldon and Edna Mae Armstrong Snodgrass. She was a member of Haven Heights Baptist Church in Fort Smith, where she served the church as organist for 32 years. Her greatest pleasures in life were being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved cooking, working puzzles, playing card games, playing/watching tennis, reading and studying the Bible, and spending time with her family, especially her beloved granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sheldon Snodgrass and Edna Mae Armstrong Snodgrass Grimes; her husband, Dale Pearce; and her sister Avis M. Ervin. Survivors include a son, Brent D. Pearce of Fort Smith; a daughter, Kimberly G. Pearce of Fayetteville; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Wanda and John Houston of Mexico, Missouri; and Gail and William Mitchell of Malvern, Arkansas; and two grandchildren, Lauren Madden and her husband, Kevin, of Aviano, Italy; Lindsy Dale Pearce of Fort Smith and great-grandson, Harrison Michael Madden of Aviano, Italy.
The memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Haven Heights Baptist Church, officiated by the Reverends Dr. Neal Prock and Dr. Steve Young, and under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith. The family will conduct a private graveside service at Moore’s Chapel Cemetery in Waveland following the memorial service.
Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.The family will receive friends following the memorial service on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Haven Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, 7701 Hwy. 271 S. Fort Smith, Arkansas 72908.
