John F. Gardner IV, 44, passed away November 17, 2010 in Fort Smith. He was born January 29, 1966 in Siloam Springs, AR to John F. Gardner III and Kaye Gardner. Johnny was a former Assistant Golf Professional at Hardscrabble Country Club and loved being able to work with the members and their families. Later he went to work for OK Foods and held numerous sales positions in the company. He moved into a more challenging sales field of medical devices for American Medical Systems. He put numerous hours of study and observation in this field before becoming a most respected salesman, having twice becoming a President’s Club member as one of the top salesman for AMS. His love of the out of doors has always been a welcomed relief from work, as he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf.
He is survived by his wife; Cyndi Stiga Gardner of Van Buren, AR, his parents; John F. and Kaye Gardner III of Franklin, TN, 1 sister; Kimberley Kaye Stinson and her husband Gary, of Franklin, TN, 1 brother; Hank Ware Gardner and his wife Marni, of Franklin, TN, 2 nieces; Morgan Gardner and Sally Kaye Stinson of Franklin, TN, 3 nephews; Logan and Camden Gardner, and Garrett Stinson, all of Franklin, TN, 4 aunts; Nancy Hodges and her husband Mike, of Seiverville, TN, Libby Brodie and her husband Wendall of Fort Smith, Dede Lux and her husband Bill, of Atlanta, GA, Laura Hardy and her husband Alan, of Russellville, AR, and 1 uncle; J. Harry and his wife “Jackie” Feldman of Wilmington, Delaware.
Johnny was loved and is survived by his wife Cyndi’s extended family; her mother; Dee Stiga of Fort Smith, AR, her brother; T.J. Stiga of Fort Smith, AR, her paternal grandmother; Dorothy Danz of Fort Smith, AR, her maternal grandmother; Olga Stiga of Chicago, IL.
Johnny was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; John and Pearl Gardner Jr., and his maternal grandparents; Hank and Lollie Feldman Leding. He was also preceded in death by Cyndi’s father; Richard Stiga and her grandparents; John Stiga and Thomas Danz.
Memorial service will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
The family will visit with friends from 1:00 P.M. – 2:45 P.M. Saturday, November 20, 2010, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
