with the Lord at the age of 80. John was born on July 20, 1940 in London, England to
Charles John Ford and Elsie Ford. After the death of his father, he was raised by his
mother and stepfather, Earl Gunn.
John was a Navy veteran, and spent the rest of his career in management at Whirlpool
and Lowes. He was a quiet and gentle man who loved his family and friends. He
enjoyed spending time on his boat with his wife bass fishing. During the warmer
months, you could often find him tending to his yard, in which he found enjoyment.
John was preceded in death by his father, Charles; his mother, Elsie; and his stepfather,
Earl.
His is survived by his wife of 27 years, Barbara; his seven children, Shelly Bristol,
Cheryl Gorenflo, Sandy Buker and husband Chad, John Ford and wife Kelli, Ron Ford,
Trudy Ford, and Audra Ford Myers, and two step children he considered his own, Scott
Kizer and wife Kristina, and Shanna Rumburg and husband Brian; his brother James
Gunn and wife Elizabeth, niece Sarah Hendrix and nephew Daniel Gunn.
He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.
A private interment will be held, followed by a memorial service on Friday, May 14, 2021
at First Presbyterian Church of Fort Smith, Arkansas at 11 o’clock a.m.
