Joanne Ada Hill

Joanne Ada Hill, 81, of Fort Smith, AR, passed away on July 14, 2021. She was born on January 29, 1940 in Greenwood, AR to Joseph Crossland and Pearl Sanders Crossland. Joanne was a retired U. S. Air Force Major, having worked as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Throughout her military career, she received many merits and accommodations. After serving 20 years in the Air Force, she retired to Fort Smith and continued a long career as a registered nurse specializing in wound and ostomy care. Joanne was an avid reader who loved traveling, cooking, music, movies, the fine arts and theatre. She enjoyed local arts, crafts fairs and shopping. Joanne adored her faithful companion, a miniature schnauzer named Bella.

Joanne is survived by one sister, Mary Helen Booth of Barling; one brother, Robert Crossland (Karen) of Van Buren; five nieces, Kathy Miller (Chip) of Fayetteville, Christi Nicklin of Barling, Jeannine Smith (Derrel) of Jonesboro, Alissa Crossland (Chase Harding) of Springdale and Kim Branstetter of Van Buren; one nephew, Toby Crossland of Van Buren as well as many great nieces and nephews.
