Jo Ann Daniel was born on January 2, 1938 to Tim and Wanda Wilson in Roland, OK and she passed away on February 24, 2018 in Roland, OK. She was a retired paralegal for the United States Attorney’s Office in Fort Smith, AR. She was a longtime member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Roland where she shared her beautiful voice in the choir. She performed with various members of the church and at times with her son and daughters at her home church and other churches in the surrounding community.
She was a wonderful role model to her entire family. She instilled in us Christian values and morals. Her entire life was a true testimony of exemplary faith and what a mother should be. She epitomized strength and character throughout her life even to the end. We celebrate her life knowing she has gone to her heavenly home to join her loved ones that have been awaiting her arrival.
Her husband, Fred Daniel; son, Charles Gantt; granddaughter, Brandy Gantt; and her parents, Wanda and Tim Wilson preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Roland, OK with Brother David Johnson and Brother Terry Colwell officiating. Burial will follow at Roland Cemetery both under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith, AR.
She is survived by four daughters, Melissa Chapman, Thelma Younger and Catrina Gibbs, all of Roland and Kristi Daniel of Fort Smith; four sisters, Melba Matlock, Janelle Davis, Alice Redden and Sandy Cooper, all of Roland; one brother, Gerald Wilson of Choctaw, OK; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, Ken Wilson, Clint Wilson, Wade Wilson, Jackie Matlock, Mike Matlock, John Davis, Raymond Strong, Todd Strong and Richie Redden.
The family will visit with friends Wednesday evening from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
