Jo Bateman, 89, passed away September 16, 2023. She was born February 26, 1934, in Jenny Lind, AR to James Ernest Dalton and Rosa Eva (Thomas) Dalton. She was a retired Dental Assistant and member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Jo enjoyed traveling, watching sports, and loving her dogs. She especially enjoyed cooking for friends and family. She also loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Harold Bateman; her son, Darryl Bateman; her daughter, Patti Johnson; and her sister, Nancy Higgerson.
Jo is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Price of Mansfield, TX; her son, Steve Bateman of Uniontown, AR; her brother-in-law, Bill Higgerson of Sand Springs, OK; eight grandchildren, Kevin Newton, Clint Johnson, Stephen Bateman, David Bateman, Allie Thornton, Garrett Price, Tim Maness, and Mark Maness; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Edwards Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Friday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jerry Hassler and Bill Higgerson.
