Jesse Franklin “Frank” Butler, Jr., 78, of Rudy, AR, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017, in Fort Smith, AR. He was born September 2, 1939 in Charleston, WV to the late Jesse Franklin Butler and Dortha Quinn Butler. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Fort Smith. He was retired from the United States Army and a Bus Driver for the Van Buren School District Transportation Department. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Edwards Funeral Home with burial to follow at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith with full Military Honors under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Butler of the home; daughter, Deanna Thomas of Van Buren, AR; son, Gary L. Butler of Springdale, AR; sister, Faye Brennen of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Kennady, Landon, Carson Mia and Ava Butler, Eli Williams and Garrett Thomas; and four great grandchildren, Daxton Williams, Jade, Temperance and Andrea Thomas.
Pallbearers will be Carroll McClure, Tommy Gregory, Kenneth McLaughlin, Tim Henson, Eli Williams and Gary Butler.
The family will visit with friends Wednesday evening from 5:30 PM-6:30 PM at the funeral home.
