Jennifer Kathryn Humphreys, 77, a 49-year resident of Fort Smith, passed away on April 19, 2023. She was born in London, England and was the only daughter of Beatrice and Alfred Turpin. She leaves behind her husband of 50 years, Howard Humphreys, two daughters, Kathryn Humphreys (Finn Murphy) of Chicago, and Elizabeth Fair (Tyler) of Dallas, four adored grandchildren - Emmeth Murphy, Roan Murphy, Henry Fair, and Thomas Fair – as well as lifelong friends that will forever miss her.
In retirement, Jennifer was an active member of the local art group, The Magic Brush, and exhibited her paintings and pottery at local art fairs. From 1989-2003 she was a beloved volunteer and substitute teacher with the Southside High School Theater Department, spending countless hours mentoring students in life skills, set design, and building for productions while teaching them some choice British phrases and terms. She was a Girl Scout leader, a tireless advocate for the color yellow, a creator of nonsense songs to be sung loudly, and a bright light to everyone she met.
A celebration of life will be August 11, 2023, at 6 PM, at Crea8tive Arts Network, 7408 Buckhorn Street, Fort Smith, AR, and reception will follow from 7 - 9 PM at The Vue, 12105 Ward Avenue, Fort Smith, AR.
