Jay Scott Thompson, 58, of Fort Smith passed from this life March 27, 2017 in Fort Smith. He was born April 24, 1958, in Fort Smith, to Bradley and Margaret McAlister Thompson. Scott was a 1976 graduate of Northside High School and attended Arkansas Tech University. Scott was an Executive Director at Wolters Kluwer. He loved animals and supported the Sebastian County Humane Society and the World Wildlife Federation. He was a member of Fort Smith First United Methodist Church. Scott will always be remembered for his huge heart and his spirit of generosity.
He is survived by his mother, Margaret Thompson; his sisters, Toni Thompson and Donna Jamell; his brother, Kim Thompson and his wife Chilla; his fiancé, Cerissa Gant; a daughter, Melanie Thompson; four grandchildren, as well as six nieces and nephews and four great nieces and nephews. Scott also leaves behind his beloved four legged friend, Arnold. He was preceded in death by his father, Bradley Thompson.
A memorial service will be 11:00am Saturday, April 1, 2017 in Roebuck Chapel at Fort Smith First United Methodist Church with visitation following in the Narthex, at First United Methodist Church. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
