Left behind to cherish his memory are his mother and stepfather Regina and Robert Mason, his son Jett Gunner Black, half-sister Lindsey Gant, and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Don Albert Black, maternal grandparents Herbert and Hazel Burris, paternal grandparents Albert and Ann Black, and his sister Kara Jill Black.
Jared received his education in Fort Smith Public Schools. He worked in Del Ray Beach, Florida for Razorback Electric and best friend Derek Lewis since 2015.
Jared attended The Avenue Church in Del Ray Beach. A memorial will be held for him there for his many friends who live in Florida.
When he wasn’t doing electrical work he liked to volunteer at his church and play softball on the Razorback Electric Softball team.
Jared would call his mother with a, “Hey Mama, what are you doing today?” He usually had something funny to tell her, wanted to share where he was working that day, tell her a corny joke, and say that he loved her. Jared had a sister, Kara that was like a twin to him, and he never got over losing her when she was only nineteen.
Jett Gunner Black was the greatest earthly gift that Jared ever received. Jett, your Daddy is watching over you and understands you are sad and wondering why he is gone. Just know that he was so very proud of you and always prayed for your well-being and happiness.
Jared is in Heaven now with his sister. They are laughing and rejoicing to be together again.
A visitation for Jared will be held Monday, July 29, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home, 201 N. 12th Street, Fort Smith, Arkansas. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Edwards Funeral Home.
