Janet Sue Smith

Janet Sue Smith, age 77 passed from this life on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. She was born November 7, 1947 in Joplin, MO to Verdon Bennett and Louise (Webb) Bennett. Janet graduated from Northside High School in 1964, and she received her Art Degree from the University of Arkansas in 1971. She loved teaching Art to children on the Indian Reservation in Gallup, New Mexico. Janet worked for the State of Arkansas, as a Legal Secretary for the Circuit Judges. She was a member of Living Faith Missionary Baptist Church, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School. Janet also enjoyed her plants, and animals.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Dennis Smith; her sisters, Lynda Burns of Fort Smith, and Debbie Riley and husband Gene, of North Little Rock, AR; and her brother, Robert Bennett and his wife Inessa, of San Antonio, TX.

Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
