James “Mike” Taylor, 68, of Fort Smith, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021. He was born on August 15, 1953 to the late James and Exine Taylor. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Teri Sewell.
A local businessman and entrepreneur, he was the owner of 22 Go Cart Track at the early age of 15, and later the owner and operator of Mike Taylor Plumbing Company Inc. Mike was of the Baptist faith, an avid golfer, devoted family man and a great friend. Mike also enjoyed the “occasional” trip to the casino.
There will be a privately held family celebration of life. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife Kristen, of the home; two daughters, Tracy Michelle Brown (Eric) of Alma and Ashley Nichole Taylor of Dallas; two sons, Jimmy Brandon Schuster (Amy) and Joshua Michael Taylor, both of McKinney, TX; his brother, Ronald Taylor (Clark) of New York, NY; his brother-in-law, Bill Sewell of Fort Smith, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
