James Ronnie Stephens, 70, of Alma passed from this life May 19, 2022 in Fort Smith. He was born February 16, 1952, in Fort Smith, to James E. Stephens and Bertha Stephens. Ron was a proud grandfather and enjoyed being with his family. He was a cigar aficionado and enjoyed playing the guitar. Ron was a 1970 graduate of Northside High school, and earned a bachelor’s degree from Arkansas Tech University, graduating with the class of 1974. During his career he worked as a draftsman for McGuire Engineering.
Ron is survived by his wife Carolyn Stephens; their daughter Kelly Jordan and her husband Tony; son James R. Stephens; sister Brenda Hunter; one grandson Harrison James Jordan. James was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, John Griffin Jordan.
A memorial service celebrating James’ life will be 11:00 am Saturday, May 28, 2022 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
