Howard L. Bates, Jr., 62 of Fort Smith, formerly of Indiana, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022. Howard was born on November 23, 1959 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Howard Sr. and Melba Bates. He was a U.S. Army Gulf War veteran.
There are no services scheduled, cremation arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife, Kristein; two daughters, Sarah Bates of Oklahoma and Sandra Davis of Elizabeth City, North Carolina; a half sister, Jackie Smith of Iowa; step-sister, Ravivian Stanton of Indiana; brother, Larry Bates of Indiana and 4 half brothers, Jessie Molloy of Iowa, McAtee Debose, Dennis Bates and Jerry Bates, all of Indiana and six grandchildren.
