Helen Rose Milligan

Helen Rose (Thompson) Milligan, 99, born March 14, 1924 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away November 23, 2023. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Roy J. Milligan, founder of Modern Fence Company in Fort Smith and Fayetteville, Arkansas, her parents Seth and Rose Thompson, and her sister Mary Ann (Thompson) Witt.

Helen was a lifelong homemaker who devoted herself to taking care of her family. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. After Roy’s death in 2012, she moved to Fayetteville to be closer to her three children.

Helen is survived by her three children, Roy Clark Milligan and wife Frances Woods, RoseAnna (Milligan) Presley and husband Cotton Presley, and Steve Edward Milligan and wife Lisa Anne Milligan, six grandchildren, Spencer Mack Presley, Joey Woods-Milligan, Danny Woods-Milligan, Jake Milligan, Sam Milligan, and Kelley (Milligan) Banya, and six great-grandchildren, Katie Presley, Jack Presley, Macklynn Milligan, Seamus Milligan, Maeve Milligan and Stevie Banya.

The family will gather for a private graveside service under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home Fort Smith.
