Helen M. Forbes, 92 of Fort Smith passed away Monday, August 5, 2013. She was born on July 10, 1921 in Fort Smith to Floyd and Agnes (Ray) Forbes. Helen graduated from Fort Smith High School in 1939 and attended Westark College. She retired from First National Bank after 44 years. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church and starting member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class; she was also a member of the Pacesetters Group and Elizabeth Circle. Helen loved football and always cheered her favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. She also enjoyed golfing and bowling.
She is survived by her sister-in-law Margaret Forbes of Fort Smith; three nieces, Gail Forbes of Rhode Island, Janet (Forbes) Strgand of Pennsylvania and Peggy (Forbes) Fischer of Indiana; two niece-in-laws, Suzanne McCord of Fort Smith and Jill Forbes of Phoenix, AZ; a great nephew Brent McCord and his sister Jamie Hopkins, both of Fort Smith; Great, great nephews Will Byars, Ryan and Maddox McCord and a great, great niece Dylan McCord, all of Fort Smith. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by three brothers; Raymond, George and Harley Forbes; one sister, Bryce McCord and two nephews, Larry McCord and David Forbes.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday at Roebuck Chapel with burial to follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary in Fort Smith.
Family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Pacesetters Group.

The family would like to thank Peachtree Hospice for the loving care they gave Helen in the last week of her life.
