Gloria Tharp

Gloria “Goins” Tharp, 67, of Hackett passed away Monday, November 13, 2017, in her home with her family by her side. She was born June 26, 1950 in Fort Smith to the late A. B. and Shirley Ann Goins. She was a secretary for the Department of Human Services. She was a member of Hackett First Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday at the Pavilion at National Cemetery with Pastor Joe Silva presiding. Burial will follow under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years James Barry Tharp, one daughter Julie Tharp of Sherwood, niece Madeline Nelson (Dave) of Virginia Beach, one sister Neita Banks of Fort Smith, two brothers Robert Goins (Donna) of Hackett and Carl Goins (Brenda) of Fort Smith and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Hackett First Baptist Church, 401 East Greenwood, Hackett, AR 72937.

The family will visit with friends following the service at the Magnolia Room at Creekmore Park.
