He was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Mary Catherine Youmans Udouj and Richard John Udouj on March 18, 1965. He was a graduate of Southside High School, attended University of Arkansas where he pledged Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and went on to graduate from Western State University in Gunnison, Colorado.
Frank had a 40-year career in the furniture industry beginning with retail sales for Roberds Furniture in Dayton, Ohio. He continued as a manufacturer’s representative with Singer Furniture and Ashley Furniture in Ohio before returning to Arkansas. In Arkansas, he went on to represent several different furniture lines, creating so many relationships over the years with people in the industry who will always remember him fondly.
Frank was an avid sports fan. You could find him every weekend with several televisions on so that he could watch multiple games and report on the results, but his favorite team was the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Frank was deeply loved by his friends and family. Whether it was a dance recital, a father-daughter dance, a hockey game, or a gymnastic meet, he was always there for his children. As they grew and developed their own lives, he was a phone call or a text message away and his visits were precious. Frank was the life of every party. His laugh was contagious and his intentions were sincere. He was a devoted son, uncle, and brother who, during his travels selling furniture or visiting, would always stop in to have a meal, watch a game, or have a conversation with his parents, family, and siblings. Frank always put others first.
He is preceded in death by his father, Richard John Udouj. He is survived by his mother, Mary Youmans Udouj, his children, Frank Youmans Udouj, Jr. of Cody, Wyoming, Katelyn Suzanne Udouj of San Francisco, California, Grace Augusta Marie Udouj of Little Rock, Arkansas, two step-children Avery and Andrew England of Little Rock, Arkansas, a granddaughter Olivia Grace Udouj of Green River, Wyoming, siblings Natalie Udouj Devero of Dallas, Texas, Brother Reginald Udouj, O.S.B. Of Subiaco, Arkansas, Cristelyn Udouj Johnson and husband Chip, of Fort Smith, several nieces and nephews and one great-niece.
Those who were lucky enough to know Frank will carry his memory as a reminder to show up fully, love deeply, and never miss a good game.
