Emma Jean “Emo” Sagely, 87, of Fort Smith, went to be with the Lord on September 29, 2014 in Fort Smith. She was born February 10, 1927 in Crawford County to Reves W. and Leona Spoon Pitcock. She served as a care giver and was a faithful member of the First Lutheran Church of Fort Smith.
Emo Jean was an excellent mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She provided for her family selflessly for years by providing delicious meals, and giving love and support at all times. She always had a beautiful smile on her face and she always exuded class. To know Emo Jean was to love her. Known to many of her grandchildren as “Cesette,” she loved coming to their games and supporting them in everything that they undertook as young children. We would often find ourselves looking in the stands to find her which always gave us a sense of comfort. Regardless of the circumstances, she carried herself with grace and elegance. Her children as well as all those that know her call her “blessed.” She is survived by two loving sons, Ken and wife Teena Sagely of Van Buren and John and wife Stacy Sagely of Fort Smith; one beloved sister, Betsy Westphal of Fort Smith; three brothers, Jim Pitcock of Little Rock, AR and Bob Pitcock of Tulsa, OK, and Jerry Pitcock of Fort Smith. She was cherished grandmother to her five grandchildren; Matt Sagely of Washington DC, Landi Tarp of Bentonville, AR, Sarah Klotz and her husband Brian, of Washington DC, Hunter Sagely of Fayetteville, AR, and Hannah Sagely of Wetuka, Wisconsin. She was beloved by her seven great-grandchildren; Charlie Sagely, Hailey, Ashlyn, and Hudson Tarp, and Harrison, Campbell and Sawyer Klotz. She is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister; Donna Schroder and one brother; Bill Pitcock.
