Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Hoover, 79, passed away November 11, 2017. She was born November 26, 1937 to the late Rose and Joseph Ahlert. She graduated from St. Scholastica Academy and St. Edwards School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse for several years before becoming a beloved wife, mother, nana and homemaker. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the IC Ladies Auxiliary.
Rosary will be recited Thursday, November 16th at 7pm at Immaculate Conception Church. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Friday, November 17th at Immaculate Conception Church under the direction of Fentress Mortuary, followed by burial at the National Cemetery in Fort Smith.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Wilburn Lee Hoover. She is survived by her seven children: Kathy Conder and husband Philip of Rudy, Karen Mackey and husband Darrin of Little Rock, Kellye Hug and husband Michael of Orlando, FL, Kris Gilsinger and husband Michael of Fort Smith, Kim Testa and husband Ronny of Lindale, TX, Joel Hoover and wife Lauren of North Little Rock, Kacy Welch and husband Jeff of West Plains, MO.
She was preceded in death by brothers Jerry Ahlert and Eugene Ahlert and survived by one brother Raymond Ahlert and wife Wilma of Fort Smith, and two sisters Rosemary Lelemsis of Fort Smith, and Ginger Georgie and husband Jim of Overland Park, KS.
Betty was blessed with 20 grandchildren: Maggie Conder, Erin Mackey Baggett, Matthew Hug, Emily Hug, Mallory Hug, Madeline Hug, Morgan Gilsinger, Mason Gilsinger, Madison Gilsinger, Sarah Beth Testa, Leah Testa, Claire Testa, Abby Hoover, Greyson Hoover, Cameron Hoover, Asher Hamilton, Patton Hamilton, Libby Welch, Anna Welch, and Bree Welch.
Betty was dearly loved and will be so, so greatly missed.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Hug, Mason Gilsinger, Kevin Ahlert, Gene Ahlert, Jerry Selby, and Charley Williams. Honorary Pallbearers are Greyson Hoover, Cameron Hoover, Raymond Ahlert and Chase Baggett.
