Eddie was born November 2, 1951 to James and Minnie (Dunkin) Floyd in Beloit, Wisconsin. He received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in July of 1979 at Logan College. After starting his career in Hardy AR, he moved with his family to Fort Smith, AR in 1986 and retired after serving his community for thirty years.
On November 25, 1970, he married his high school sweetheart, Patti (Cornelius) Floyd, in Thayer, MO. They raised two children, Mason and Jessie.
Eddie was a skilled fly fisherman who found peace and fulfillment in the early morning hours on the foggy banks of Spring River, near where he met Patti. The hands that brought compassionate care to hundreds of his patients also enjoyed tying flies, working on his antique car, and gardening. His love of music, specifically classic rock, was shared with his family on long road trips and was the soundtrack to countless hours in his garage workshop with his grandson, Jacob. Whether he was hiking and walking the Carol Ann Cross Park trails with his other grandson, Landon, or taking his favorite granddaughter, Sophie, for a ride in his 1969 Datsun, his love for his grandchildren was always evident.
Eddie was preceded in death by his father, James, and two grandchildren, Kaden and Keeton. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patti; two children, Mason (his spouse, Ada) and Jessie, (their partner, Jody); mother, Minnie; 3 brothers Steve, Ron, and Brian; grandchildren Jacob, Sophia, and Landon; and best friends Miller and JoJo.
