Dorothy Louise Miller

Dorothy Louise Miller, 94 of Van Buren, AR passed away peacefully on February 7, 2023. Dorothy was born on June 25, 1928 and one of ten children to Clifford and Mary Brown in Burton Township, IL. She attended school till 8th grade and when she was just 16 she was smitten by a boy named Russell Miller. One wink from Russ’s twinkling eye was all it took to steal her heart. They were married in Palmyra, MO on June 29, 1946 and were inseparable for 70 years until Russell passed in 2017.

They built their lives around a commitment to God and each other. Together they raised six children. Dorothy also operated her own daycare for over 25 years. She loved spending time with her family and being a grandmother. She kept busy with crochet, embroidery, tending to her flower garden and loved being in the kitchen. After Russell passed her favorite companion was her dog Gizmo.

Dorothy is survived by her children Dianne Hannegan, Sharon Burr, Cheryl Clabby, Vickie Sheets, Kim Sims, 19 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, and one sister Pearl Coultas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, love of her life Russell Miller, son Terry Miller, grandchildren Rusty Miller, Scotty Taylor, great grandchildren Jackson Burr, Bennet Tigue, siblings JR Brown, Harold Brown, Gladys Melon, Silvia Furniss, Leona Melon, Faye Huddleston, Elmer Brown, and David Brown.
