Dorcas Whisenhunt

born November 21, 1941 and was loved by all who knew her.

Dorcas Ann (Fancher) was a 1959 graduate of Hartford High School where she met the love of

her life Paul Whisenhunt. They married on April 1, 1961 and enjoyed 56 happy years together.

She lived her life as a loving wife, homemaker, mother to her two daughters that she loved with

all her heart, and enjoyed her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorcas was

known as a lovely lady. She had a love for reading and read her bible every day. She loved her

church and receiving communion brought joy to her heart.

Dorcas is survived by daughters, Cathy Strange of Fort Smith, Paula Henley and husband Rod of

Fort Smith; grandchildren Jessica Lind Hosken (Marc) of Denver, CO, Samantha Spence

(Aaron) of Fayetteville, Shelby Strange of Barling, and Donald Charles Lind IV (Alyssa) of Fort

Smith; five great grandchildren; and siblings Sharon Dake (Bill), Carol Lagier, Ralph Fancher

(Karen), and Helen Owen (Pat).

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Whisenhunt, her mother Melba Fancher, and her

sister Gloria Warner (Michael).

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 2-4 pm at Edwards Funeral Home, 201

North 12th Street, Fort Smith, AR 72901. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Monday,

August 15, 2022 at Mount Olive Cemetery in Midland, AR. Funeral arrangements under the

direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
