Born in 1946, Diane, grew up in Sulphur Rock, Arkansas where she graduated high school as Salutatorian in 1963. She continued her education at the University of Central Arkansas and at Lyons College. Diane was a stay at home mom and volunteer at church, school and local hospitals. When her mom duties began to require less time Diane became an elementary school office secretary. During her twelve year career Diane was secretary and nanny/grandmother/whatever her more than five hundred students needed, as well as, an active member of the National Association of Educational Office Professionals (NAEOP). Diane attended both local and national meetings and conventions of NAEOP. She was awarded the honor of being National Association of Educational Office Professional of the Year for 2000.
Diane was a member of East Side Baptist Church. She loved socializing with fellow ESBC members and her many friends. Diane had a wonderful personality that could light up a room.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Dennis; their sons Dennis Jr, and his wife Courtney, Thomas, and his wife Audra and five cherished grandchildren — Lucas, Carter, Brett, Charlotte and Seth and her cousin C Don Bice.
Diane was predeceased by her parents Lawrence E and Nettie (Thomas) Hunter and her Uncle Roscoe.
Because of the COVID 19 risks to everyone, Diane’s service will be private for the immediate family at the graveside.
Viewing will be Monday, September 7, 2020 from 10 AM to 5 PM at Edwards Funeral Home.
