Darrell “Bub” Dunn, 71, of Pocola, passed from this life February 3, 2018 in Pocola surrounded by family. He was born November 3, 1946, in Fort Smith, to the late Carl and Jarrell Dean Rimmer Dunn. Darrell was a retired owner operator truck driver, with over 40 years over the road. He liked to remind everyone of driving 2 million miles without an accident. He was an amazing story teller and had almost as many stories as he did accident free miles. Darrell never met a stranger, and many times his mouth kept his friends both amused and sometimes out of trouble. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and has “trophies” all around the house to prove it.
He is survived by his wife, Bennie of the home; two daughters, Barbara Dunn of California and Seantelle Marrazzo and husband Thomas of Pocola; a brother, Dale and wife Edith of Spiro; one niece, Brandi Harper and husband Brandon of Spiro; three nephews, Denver Dunn and wife Shyla of Mansfield, Aaron Inman of El Paso, Texas and Phillip Inman and wife Celeste of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren, Melissa and Eric Dunn and Victoria and Carla Marrazzo; a sister-in-law, Julie Inman and husband Don of San Antonio, Texas; as well as his dearest lifelong friend, Mary Thresher and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Darrell Thomas Dunn, Jr.; and a granddaughter, Frances Geraldine Marrazzo.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday,February 7, 2018 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following at Spiro City Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Edwards Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Marrazzo, David Thresher, Denver Dunn, Rick and Brandon Coombes and Ernie Parker.
