She worked at Clarksville Shoe Factory for 30 years. Charlene owned the Coal Hill Laundromat and she was a member of Coal Hill Baptist Church.
She was born in Augusta, Arkansas on March 28, 1924 to Nell Shipman Stewart and Charles L. Payne.
Charlene is preceded in death by her husband, K.G. (Pete) Spencer, her parents and 3 brothers, Carl Payne, Ray Payne and Dan Payne.
She is survived by two daughters, Janice Hampton of Clarksville, AR; and Charlotte Alumbaugh (Wayne) of Fort Worth, TX; three grandchildren, Kelly Elam (Daniel), Michael Ann Reames (Jason), Justin Hampton (Taylor) and seven great grandchildren.
The family will have a private service at her request. Arrangements are entrusted to Edwards Funeral Home.
