Bobby Dempsey

Bobby Dempsey, 83 of Arkoma, OK passed away Monday, August 25, 2014. He was born November 10, 1930 in Moffett, OK to the late John and Josephine Dempsey. He was a Baptist and retired Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and a member of EANGUS (Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States) where he was President from 1991 to 1994. He was a member of the Murrow Lodge #49 in Spiro, OK and was a Past Worshipful Master, and held numerous offices with the lodge. He was also a member of the Arkansas-Oklahoma Quadrille.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, August 29, 2014 at Fentress Mortuary Chapel with burial Military honors to follow at the Ft. Smith National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carolina of the home, two daughters; Lisa White of Pocola, OK and Kim Williams of Ft. Smith; seven grandchildren; Amy Beckham of Van Buren, Tommy Jones, Jr. of Little Rock, Chris Cecil of Pocola, Brittany Cameron of Pella, IA, Poncho White of Van Buren, Benny Williams, III of Fayetteville, and Matthew White of Muldrow. Mr. Dempsey is also survived by 13 Great Grandchildren; Emily, Logan, and Jadyn Hudspeth all of Van Buren, Branson, Kasyn, and Kiersan Cecil all of Pocola, Isaac and Alisha Jones and Dakota Nulsey of Ft. Smith, Jadyn and Bently White of Muldrow, Cayson Williams of Rogers and Eliza Cameron of Pella, IA.

Pallbearers will be Kent Benge, Mike and Terry Lea, Gary Lookebill, Benny Williams, and Craig Cameron.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Jones, Jr., Chris Cecil, Poncho White, Benny Williams, III, Matthew White, Bob Ebbing, Bob Mullicane, Evan Tyler, Members of Lodge #49 and Wyoming Hunting Buddies.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to MURROW LODGE # 49 P.O. BOX 156 SPIRO, OK 74959.

Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the funeral home.
