Bob Gene Harris

Bobby “Bob” Gene Harris, 69, of Palacios, TX, formerly of Fort Smith, died April 30, 2013 in Palacios, TX. He was born October 16, 1942 in Forrest City, AR to Charles Richard and Willie Mae Vunkannon Harris. Bob retired after many years as a successful businessman. He loved the mountains and loved traveling the county. He also loved watching his grandchildren and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Jean of the Home; four daughters, Michelle Harris Dean of Enid, OK., Debbie Garland Williams and husband Ramond of Wynne, AR., Judy Garland of Elko, NV., and Beverly Garland Allen and husband Jessie of Elko, NV; four sons, Richard Harris and wife Terressa of Grove, OK., Lynn Harris and wife Denase of Greenwood, AR., Danny Garland and wife Missy of Coeur d’Alene, ID., and Steven Garland and fiancée Jo Ann of Smithville, TN; one sister Margaret Bodine; twenty grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Harris and Willie Mae Harris Benard; brother, Robert Harris and sister, Lou Blaylock.

Funeral service will be Monday, May 6, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Woodland Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home

Pallbearers will be his sons and grandsons

The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 pm
