Born on January 16, 1945, Beverly's life was a testament to her faith in Jesus. She was gracious above all and unwavering in her commitment to her family.
Her favorite verse, "Mercies are new every morning, great is thy faithfulness,” Lamentations 3:23, describes her steadfast belief in God's enduring love and provision. Beverly lived out her belief in Jesus embodying a life of love and service to others.
Beverly's 28 year career as a dedicated teacher in Crossett Public Schools touched countless lives while teaching elementary and middle school. She joyfully served FBC Crossett and Grand Ave Baptist churches for over 50 years and shared her deep faith in Jesus Christ with anyone who would listen.
Her love for her husband was only surpassed by being called Grammy by her six grandchildren.
Beverly was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Reverend Ed and Mamie Sheppard, and loving husband, Edwin Lee Johnson.
She is survived by her son Greg Johnson and wife Andee of Little Rock, daughter Leigh Ann Hasley and husband Doug of Fort Smith, grandsons Derek Johnson and wife Rachel, Bennett Hasley and wife Katie, Bryant Hasley, granddaughters Kelly Johnson, Bailee Johnson, Addison Chenoweth and husband Owen, and three great-grandchildren, Shepherd, Ryder, and Sloan. She is also survived by her sister Pam Hall and husband Keith, brothers Jerry Shepherd and wife Carol, Barney Shepherd and wife Kathy, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Beverly Ann Johnson's legacy of faith, love, and kindness will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were privileged to be blessed by her.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 10:00am at Roselawn Cemetery, 5403 N O St, Fort Smith, AR, 72904. Under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
