Betty Allene Williamson, 87, of Barling, passed from this life January 3, 2017 in Fort Smith. She was born December 28, 1929, in Spring Valley, Arkansas to the late Manford and Ruie Belle Wilson Kershner. She was retired from Southwestern Bell as a Data Entry Clerk and was a member of Barling First Baptist Church.
Betty loved, and was well known for her crocheting skills and was an avid reader. She loved her cats, even bred and raised Himalayan and Persian cats at one time. She was the widow of Arval Williamson.
She is survived by her two daughters, Teresa Walker and her husband Doug of Fort Smith and Billie Jane Gentry and her husband Bobby of Cleburne, Texas; two grandchildren, Marsha Salinas and Dallas Moon; as well as three great grandchildren, Bambi, Daizi and Zen Moon. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; and one brother, Billy Kershner.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, January 9, 2017 at Barling First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Barling City Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 to 4:00 pm Sunday, January 8, 2016 at Edwards Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
