Bessie Ellen Tankersley

Mrs. Bessie Kelley Tankersley, 79, wife of the late Nathan Deane Tankersley, died Monday, Dec. 5, 2011 at her home in Eupora, MS. She was a long-time resident of Greenwood, MS., where she retired from J. C. Penneys. Mrs. Tankersley was born Sept. 26th, 1932 in Ft.Smith, AR.

She is survived by four children: Teresa Garner of Salt Lake City, Utah, Cheryl Wells of Eupora,MS, Jerry Tankersley of Ruleville, MS, and Joye Tankersley of Greenwood, MS, 6 grandchildren: Devon Garner, Tyler Garner, Lindsey Garner all of Utah, Brian Wells of Eupora,MS, TSGT Scott Wells of Thetford UK, Billy Waye McDonald of Greenwood, MS, 2 great grandchildren: Nathan Wells, of Huntington, TX and Aiden Wells of the UK. She is also survived by 2 sisters: Mrs. Louise Schenk, Ms., Jackie Geoates and one brother James Kelley, Jr. all of Ft. Smith, AR.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J. W. & Flora Kelley, of Ft. Smith, and a sister, Mrs. Eva Whitehead of Louisville, MS.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, Dec. 9, 2011 at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Steep Hill Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Friday, Dec. 9, 2011 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.
