Bertha George

Bertha George, 86, of Van Buren, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. She was born on November 24, 1935 in Keota, Oklahoma to the late William and Marie Jones. Bertha was retired from GNB Battery and of the Assembly of God faith. In addition to her parents, Bertha is preceded in death by her husband, James C. George.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, July 8, 2022 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, with interment at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.

She is survived by her daughter, Jayan George Gregory (Danny) of Tucson, Arizona; two sons, Mark George-Hiatt (Fred) of Springdale and Quentin George (Marla) of Fayetteville; two sisters, Wanda Wright of Jonesboro and Juanita Voelkel (Kenneth) of Fort Smith; a brother, Willie Jones of Arkansas; three grandchildren, Danyelle Liszkiewicz, Kory Gregory, August George and six great grandchildren.

Family will greet friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Thursday, July 7, 2022 at the funeral home.
