Barbara Ann Ramsey, 94 years young, of Fort Smith passed from this life July 2, 2022 in Fort Smith. She was born June 8, 1928 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Lloyd Detter and Anna Stout Detter. Barbara was a homemaker, and was involved at her church, Grand Avenue Baptist Church. She had been a Sunday School teacher, a member of WMC, and an active member of the choir. Barbara was the widow of Floyd W. Ramsey.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Vivian Bearden; her grandson Bill Reynolds and his wife Natalie; her granddaughter Kimberly and her husband Virgil Hobbs; nine grandchildren, Elizabeth Epperson, Robbie Epperson, Ashley Reynolds, Will Reynolds, Ella Reynolds, Ashley and her husband Kyle Tucker, Preston Hobbs and his wife Breanna. Mallory Maxwell and Mia Maxwell; and one great great grandchild, Camryn Tucker. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; and two brothers, Lloyd Detter and Bill Detter.
The family will greet friends beginning at 9:30 am Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, followed at 10:00am by the funeral service. Burial will be at Fort Smith National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
