Anna Ted Mathis Loring, 91 passed this life on May 4, 2022 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Anna was born January 16, 1931 in Clarksville, Arkansas to JD & Josephine Mathis. She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Elbert “Lou” Loring, her parents, her sisters, Inez Larimer & Geraldine Peterson, her brother, Joe D. Mathis.
Anna is survived by her daughter, Danielle Radford, her son in law, Paul Radford, her grandson, Cary Radford of Marrero, Louisiana, his wife, Jamie & great grandson, Luke Loring Radford. Her grandson, Andrew Radford of New Orleans & great granddaughter, Natalie Lorraine Radford of Fort Smith.
Anna was a homemaker. She had many hobbies & interests, especially reading. When she & her husband, Lou retired to Fort Smith in 1992, she began volunteering in town. She worked with the Salvation Army, the Literacy Council, Cavanaugh Elementary School, Clearing House, & Project Compassion. She volunteered for Mercy/St Edwards hospice, Mercy Hospital & Fianna Hills Nursing Home. She was a member of the Red Hats & had her own book club.
The viewing will be Tuesday, May 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home, 201 N. 12th St. in Fort Smith.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, May 11 at 1:00 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at the Fort Smith National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Paul Radford, Cary Radford, Andrew Radford, Brad Kessler & Jeffrey Kessler.
