Wayne George McDougall

It is with great sadness that the family of Wayne McDougall announce his passing on the morning of May 21, 2023, with his family by his side.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife Dale, children Cathy(David) Ridenour, Jean(Larry) Stacey/Huculak, grandchildren Timothy(Danielle) Stacey, Jonathan(Amanda) Ridenour, Jessica(Mike) Beausoleil, Bradley Stacey, great-grandchildren and special sister-in-law Debbie and numerous other family members.

Wayne was born in London, Ontario but moved at an early age to Calgary.

He joined the RCAF Airforce in 1959, married in 1962 and started a family Cathy (1964) in Rivers, Manitoba and Jean (1965) in Zweibrucken, Germany.

He then returned to Fort Saskatchewan where he worked for PWA Airlines but was laid off and worked at the Fort Saskatchewan Jail as a guard for a short period. He returned to work for PWA/Canadian Airlines as a Mechanical Engineer (where he was able to travel all over the world). He made this his life career of 27 years. After retiring from Canadian Airlines he was an entrepreneur until he fully retired.

He married Dale the love of his life in 1983. They settled and resided in Calgary most of their married life until 2013 when they moved up to Fort Saskatchewan to be closer to family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Wayne’s name to the Sturgeon Community Hospital Foundation for the exceptional care he received.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
