Murray, Robert Morton - The passing of Robert Morton Murray, 48, of Stoney Plain, Alberta, occurred suddenly on Friday, August 14th, at the University of Alberta Hospital, with his family by his side. Born in Kingston, Ontario, he was the son of the late Bob and Vera (Thomas) Murray.
Robert was employed by Synergy Projects; following in his father's footsteps with a successful career in the construction industry. In his younger years, Robert spent time in Kingston, ON, and Halifax, NS, and in his early teens, he and his parents moved to Calgary, Alberta. He particularly loved it there, and would determine that Alberta would be his home. This fit well with his interests in the outdoors, which included skiing, off-roading, snowmobiling, and motorcycling, and hiking with Kristine, his best friend and wife.
Robert will be sadly missed by all family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Kristine; his two children, Matthew and Kaitlynn; his two stepchildren, Jessika and Jace (GrandMaison); his grandson, Otis (Arnold); his brother, Glenn Murray (Carol) Moncton NB; and his sister Kim Moors (Ken) Halifax, NS. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of First Memorial Funeral Services - Riverview Chapel, 11090 86 Ave, Fort Saskatchewan, AB. Memorial service to be held on Thursday, August 20 at 11:00 am with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the University of Alberta Hospital - Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute.
