He was predeceased by his parents Eldon and Myrtle; brother-in-law Ken Horsman; son Greg; great-grandson Connor Ponath and sister-in-law Carol Horsman.
Ken will be sadly missed by his wife of 65 years, Marjorie; their daughter Laurie Crawford; his four granddaughters: Katherine Ponath (Sean), Alex Hutchinson, Charnelle Crawford (Brad Zakreski) and Stephanie Gauld (Andrew); 3 great-granddaughters: Olivia and Emily Gauld and Vollyan Zakreski; his sister Maureen Ross (Allan); brother Terry Hutchinson (Pat); brother-in-law Don Horsman; sisters-in-law Helen Horsman and Julie Bedel (Larry); many nieces and nephews and their families.
Ken and Marj enjoyed living life to the fullest, travelling the world, fishing, golfing, curling and playing bridge. They loved to socialize and entertain. In 1993, they moved to Pasqua Lake and were passionate about the environment.
Ken had a great life with three careers. First as a gas serviceman with Sk Power/Energy, secondly as COO of Regina General Hospital and thirdly in his own Human Resource Consulting business. He returned to University when his children were young and graduated with Great Distinction in Business Administration.
In his consulting career, he consulted with many of the colleges in the province, as well as WCB. He served many years on the Labour Relations Board. He was on the Hamlet of Pasqua Lakes hamlet board, then also was an RM Councillor. He served on the Fort Qu’Appelle Health region board and later on the All Nations Healing Hospital Board of Directors.
A Celebration of Life was held in the Fort Qu’Appelle Legion Hall, Fort Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
