Born in Derby, OH, he has been a resident of Fort Pierce, FL for the past 28 years, formerly of Utica, MI and Columbus, OH.
Prior to retirement, he was an engineer for General Motors in Columbus, OH, Detroit, MI and Warren, MI for 34 years. Robert was formerly an avid golfer and an active member and former treasurer of the Lakewood Park Methodist Church.
Survivors include, daughter, Sandy Imado, of Honolulu, HI, son, John Tong, of Pickerington, OH, 4 grandchildren, Robb Parr, David Parr, Jona Schmitt and Jeff Tong, 5 great grandchildren, Kaitlan Parr, Christopher Parr and Lily, Joey and Lindsay Schmitt.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 from 11:00-12:00pm at Lakewood Park United Methodist Church, with a service to follow at 12:00pm. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Fort Pierce, FL.
