It is with great sadness And sorrow that I write this. My deepest condolences to Rob’s family. Rob was more than a friend to me, he was more like a brother.  Over the past 47+ years  there  are so many fond memories.  Over life’s Adventures from grade school events to adulthood.You were always there for me and I was there for you. I can’t even begin to say how much you will be missed. I’ll always treasure our memories.

A true battle brother! There are very few words I could type here to convey my love for Robert McConnell. We shared many things over the years. Faith is the most significant thing, along with several health issues that we battled together. He fought by my side and will continue in spirit. What very few know is that in 2017 Rob was involved in the naming of my nonprofit. He was the reason we included mental health assistance for the entire first responder family, as my experience was only with law enforcement PTSD. He opened my eyes to the urgency with which the fire and emergency services were struggling. Because of his fellowship with me, Rob was able to co-assist over 30 first responders also getting help with their PTSD.  A true warrior not afraid to acknowledge the struggles we shared on the job. 

Rob always preferred to stay in the background of the organization, not wanting to take any credit for his contributions. However, his legacy will continue to be a living foundation.

He will fight beside me till my last breath. Rob is incredibly missed.

PTSD.Help

It is with a deep sorrow that I write this. My cousin Robert always had a bright smile when he saw you & he was genuinely happy to see you. He loved family & enjoyed the time we spent together. Especially the barbecue's in the back yard in Greenwood Lake, NY.  Robert also loved Christmas & would decorate the house inside & out to the T! I will miss teasing him about being a Mets fan & then later in life he became a Yankee's fan. I'd say to him, "You're a  a bandwagon jumper!" He'd get so mad at me & then we'd laugh it off. I will miss you brother. Say hello to everyone up there in heaven & I'll see you on the flip side. RIP Rob.

I’m sorry if this is reposted. Rob had a heart of gold. He was always there when you needed him. I got to know him on Twitter and than we finally met last year. He was one of my best friends and i will never forget him. He was a fighter.  He was a true hero. Always had a positive attitude.  I can’t be at the funeral but I’m there in spirit. I know how much he loved his family. I’m so sorry for you loss of such a great person. May Rob be out of pain and in Peace🙏💔🥲

Bob was a dynamic force at Holy Rosary Parish in Greenwood Lake. He became involved in many aspects of parish life, but most noteably as the President of our Parish Council. We worked together on Parish Council. Bob was organized he kept us on task. He was instrumental in helping to get parish programs up and running. All he did was done quietly and behind the scenes. Bob was an intelligent, humble and giving gentleman. He was sorely missed when he moved to Florida.  My condolences to Bob's family. May he rest easy in God's loving presence. Nina Pinglora 

My name is Linda. Our hearts are grieving for the loss of Rob. We've been friends on Twitter for at least 4 years or so.  We messaged each other as I'd send him stuff to make him laugh, encourage him in the Lord. I also sent him some of the poems I wrote and he loved them.  I sent him ecards for his birthday and to his mom and dad on his Twitter account. I know he was an amazing fire fighter years ago and of course went though alot.  My condolences go out to his loved ones.  Now in the Arms of Jesus.
