She was born in Bellevue, Ohio , where she was raised until she went to college at Ohio State. She was a Registered Nurse and attained her Masters in Nursing Instructing. Jean taught Nursing Curriculums at colleges in Delaware and Florida. She was a member of AAUW , American Association of University Women and a member of the Phi Mu Sorority. In her younger years she enjoyed sailing up and down the Atlantic Ocean. In 1979 she moved to Florida from Delaware.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Irwin; and brother William Erf.
Survivors include her sons, Dale Irwin, of Vero Beach, Florida and Craig Irwin, of Jupiter, Florida; and granddaughters, Emily and Alison Irwin.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday , March 12, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce, Florida.
