It’s hard to believe it’s been two years since Sylvia Tross, an extremely humble, dignified,  and decent person left us. Sylvia is in “Glory-Land” and although she missed in the flesh, her pleasant memories continue to linger on with all those who had the wonderful blessings of meeting and knowing her.  RIP

On behalf of my father and my sisters Claudette and Felita  and the entire family,
We thank you all for the support and being with us to celebrate the life of my mother Sylvia Tross.
I am Ricardo, the eldest of her three children. I decided to upload this as I am not sure I would be able to keep it together on Thursday. 

My mom was many things:
Religious -Religiously committed to the words and deeds of the bible. Her every actions were guided by the greater good.

Dedicated to her family and a very extended adopted family. She was one to offer help and advice in a very positive and delicately direct manner. She helped many who settled in the US from the Caribbean to find jobs at NorthShore Hospital (AKA North Well). 

She sticks by you and sees the good and the lessons to be learned in most situations in addition to being very forgiving.

Accomplisher  -When she is focused on a task there is no stopping her. She would have her plan of what she wanted and in the end, perfect, just like she wanted. Spotless- to a fault. She would make sure before she went to bed the kitchen and the house is clean, no matter what time of the night.  Clothes ironed and put away seamlessly. 

Creative -My mom  crocheted the most elaborate 3D designs, with swans, pineapple shapes with elaborate frills and designs. Just a work of Art.

Elegant -She was not only elegant in how she put herself together but also in how she carried herself… Bless my father as he patiently waited with Johnny Walker (RED) for the queen to come out of the dressing room.

On Thursday January 21, 2021  we  will remember how much she is loved, and how much she means to us.  We are thankful for her life and the happiness, guidance and joy she brought to us every day.  Her smile, generosity, compassion and thoughtfulness towards others is how we remember her. Our love is never ending and our memory of her will never fade. 

MOM, until we meet again… I will be looking forward to some baked Johnny cakes and codfish!

I was  saddened to hear that aunty Cynthia passed away.  She has definitely left an indelible impact.
She was always a beautiful person  with a great smile.
I remember when  Aunty spoke  to my Mom almost two years ago,  her eloquent words that came deep from her soul .   It means so much for us , and  we realize how amazing you are. 
But God is so Good to us, the Father  of compassion and the God of all comforts,  who comfort us in  these moments  of grief.
Aunty Cynthia you are in the arm of the Angel , and you are in Good  hands now.
You are always loved and  never forgotten.

My sincere sympathy to Errol and the Tross family during this difficult time. Sylvia and I have been close friends for numerous years and we cordially refer and address each other as, “Sister.” My daughters all affectionately call her, “Mom Silvie” as we all became extended family members. 

Silvia and I carpooled to attend Christ United Methodist Church where we were devoted members of the Choir. Despite her illness, she never complained and was always cheerful, positive, and kind. I will certainly miss my dear sister, but her cherished memories will live on.

To the family of My dearest Mom Sylvi, that is what I called her, and she called me daughter, and my son her grandson, her beautiful accent always makes me smile  when we converse.  I will miss her, gentle, loving and caring ways, always understanding and encouraging , at the end of every conversation, I felt uplifted. I met her and Pop 20 years ago when I first came to Florida, she is a friend of my mother, Mom Sylvi and Pop, they adopted me and we became very close.  while being sick, I did not visit her often,  due to my  sinus issues, and didn't want to get her sick, but we would pray on the phone or I would sign her a songs to make her day, I will miss and treasure those times I had with her, I will not say goodbye, but so long until we meet again.

She was nick named "mama Sylvia " by some of our members because of her love and her kindness.
