Susan Marie (Feindel) Pottinger

Susan was born in Trenton, New Jersey on January 5, 1950 to parents Henry Clay “Slim” Feindel Jr. and Isabel (Collins) Feindel. At the age of five, the family relocated to Punta Gorda, Florida.

In 1968, Susan married Gerald “JP” Pottinger, the love of her life, and the couple relocated to Fort Myers, Florida where they spent the next 55 years together.

Susan worked with her husband for over 50 years building a successful family business, Pottinger’s Nursery and Landscaping. She also opened and managed her own business, Dolls Plus, a collectibles store which showcased many of her personal collections.

Susan was predeceased by her parents and younger brother Barry Hans Feindel.

Susan is survived by three children: Gerald “Jerry” Pottinger Jr. (Christine) of Fort Myers, Florida, Hon. Susan Pottinger Bedinghaus (Paul) of Clearwater, Florida, and Samantha Pottinger Cano (Daniel) of Okinawa, Japan; seven grandchildren: Gerald “JP” Pottinger III, Jacob Pottinger, Hunter Bedinghaus, Connor Bedinghaus, Taylor Bedinghaus, Lilyana Cano and Seneca Cano. She is also survived by her older sister Donna Feindel Hicks of Crystal River, Florida and younger brothers Henry Clay “Skip” Feindel III and Patrick Murphy Feindel of Punta Gorda, Florida.

A visitation will be held at the Hodges-Kiser Funeral Home, 9231 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33919 on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A Memorial Mass will also be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord, 8051 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33919 at 11:00 AM with a reception to follow immediately after at the Parish Hall.
