Shirley was born at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital in Bozeman, MT the third child to Anna (Swedish) and Lee Cosens on February 5, 1929 She was raised in Bozeman along with her older brother (Sonny) and an older sister (Anna Lee). She eventually met “Art,” a Montana born gentleman.
Arthur C. Quinnell and Shirley Ray Cosens fell in love and were married on June 23, 1951 AT St. James Episcopal Church, in Bozeman, MT. They were blessed with 3 boys, fraternal twins,David and Daniel, and soon after followed Donald. Art and Shirley always said , with the triple “D” names and their closeness in age, it sometimes took a minute to figure out who was doing what!
Shirley joined Arthur and David in eternal rest on August 28, 2024. She is survived by Daniel (Barbara) Quinnell and their 2 children, and Donald (Geralyn) Quinnell, who have 2 children as well.
Shirley also was blessed with 2 great grandchildren, for whom she held stars in her eyes.
We will miss Shirley's humor, love of life, and Montana born common sense and advice.
