Ron was born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. on February 28, 1929, and died peacefully with his wife and children at his side on January 23, 2020, in Sarasota, Florida. He died from complications of Parkinson's Disease which he bravely fought for 14 years.
Ron grew up in Millbrook, New York, graduated from Millbrook Memorial High School in 1947. He then went on to Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, graduating in 1952. There he met his wife of 68 years, Dorothy, and they were married at BGSU on April 6, 1951.
He was a research chemist for 40 years at Monsanto Chemical Co. starting in Dayton, Ohio, and then transferring to Springfield, Massachusetts.
Ron enjoyed jogging, camping, hiking, coin collecting, duplicate bridge, sailing, and vacations in Maine, Cape Cod, Bahamas, and the Virgin Islands.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, daughter Deborah Hill & husband Duff of Winter Haven, Florida, and son, Scott, of Westminster, Colorado, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on February 22, 2020, at Church of the Palms, 3224 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota, Florida 34239, at 11:00 AM with reception to follow in the Music Department building. Burial will be in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery at a later date.
